Functions/responsibilities:
- Design, configure and support CI’s IT infrastructure.
- Ensure IT infrastructure issues are resolved in a timely fashion, driving root cause analysis and resolution.
- Collaborate with IT peer groups, service providers, vendors and management to ensure robust and predictable technology results.
- In collaboration with vendors, service providers and global IT staff members:
- conduct infrastructure capacity planning assessment for projects;
- identify and recommend solutions that align with strategic, tactical and operational objectives and fall within budget;
- develop, maintain and monitor global IT infrastructure policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs);
- lead the development and maintenance of global inventory of IT infrastructure and technology tools, and standardization and optimization SOPs used by all locations (agencies, service areas and Kansas City);
- assist in the development of a strategy to ensure stable, scalable services and technologies by following industry standards;
- assist in the development of disaster recovery/business continuity architecture for disaster avoidance, recovery and resumption;
- assist infrastructure maintenance tasks when needed.
- Collaborate in budget forecasting for technology solutions.
- Participate in IT projects.
- Coordinate IT purchases with vendors, following CI’s SOPs related to registration, warranty and maintenance tracking and renewal.
- Assist in the development of private, public and hybrid cloud strategies that enhance CI’s ability to support the strategic framework of an international nonprofit organization.
- Support agency build-outs, consolidations and decommissions through RTSCs and IT managers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of communication and collaboration strategies that enhance operational efficiencies in a cost-effective manner.
- Identify and optimize the interdependencies between applications development and infrastructure operations through a collaborative approach to continuous delivery.
- Participate in designing Infrastructure services, integrating them with the existing service catalog and — where possible — identifying opportunities to drive greater efficiency through service consolidation.
- Pursue continuous optimization of cost and quality, including constant evaluation of emerging technology trends and business need.

Knowledge & qualifications/experience required:
This job requires ample experience in network engineering and infrastructure that support an enterprise level data center.
The candidate must have at least 5 consecutive years of experience engineering, configuring and supporting:
- Network equipment (managed switches, routers, SAN fabrics, wireless networks and VPN solutions)
- Security solutions (e.g., SonicWall NSA6600, Barracuda WAF, Cisco, Websense, Trend Micro Hosted Email Security, Pulse Secure, RSA tokens, etc.)
- Storage or hyper-converged solutions (e.g., Quantum, Dot Hill, EMC, NetApp, Nutanix, etc.)
- Backup systems
- Windows Server 2008/12 R2, IIS and Active Directory
- Virtualization products such as VMWare or Hyper V
- Virtual application and desktop products such as VMWare View, Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
- Antivirus and anti-malware systems
- MS Office product family
- Cloud services such as Windows Azure or Amazons Cloud
- Patching solutions
The candidate must have experience participating in IT infrastructure projects involving diverse IT disciplines.
10 years or more overall IT-related experience is recommended for the job.
