Change a generation

Our programs

Into Employment® prepares young people to fill the needs of local job markets. Its scholarships provide access to college, technical training, job readiness and life skills. Here, participants transform aspirations into results.

Although most economies haven’t recovered fully from the pandemic, Into Employment’s impact on their communities has endured: Many young people are well-positioned for jobs as the work becomes available. This year we aim to expand the program and provide more opportunities for those who seek them.

Children International staff member Teresa Lopez helps Honduran youth prepare for their Into Employment graduation ceremony.

In addition to four program tracks, Into Employment provides young people the coaching, 21st-century life skills and job-placement support to find — and compete for — careers in their communities.

Into Employment proVIDES
  • Vocational training: Specialized technical skills training and internships that align with the needs of a young person’s local job market.
  • College: Annual scholarship that is renewable until students complete their course of study and obtain a degree or certification.
  • Entrepreneurship: Training on business fundamentals for youth who are interested in launching and operating small-scale ventures.
  • Career readiness: Coaching, career development, job exposure visits and employment fairs that ready young people for the modern workforce.
  • Job placement: After training, we help youth connect with local employers and receive mentoring within their first few months in a job.

OUR TEAM:
GLOBAL PRESENCE
LOCAL LEADERSHIP

Anywhere we support children, you’ll find an Into Employment program. That means 67 local community centers in 10 countries. Our in-country teams develop sustainable, local programming.

Invest and your impact directly supports our outreach teams — the career counselors, skill trainers, facilities and business partners — who make it all work. We coordinate with more than 100 employers, all within those communities, to deliver the insight, education, skills and opportunities most needed in each market.

360º of support including parents, staff, employers and the youth themselves
