Title: Director of Loyalty & Advocacy Marketing

Reports to: Vice President of Marketing and Engagement

Position Summary

Children International, a $145 million international humanitarian organization, is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Director of Loyalty & Advocacy Marketing.

In this exciting position, you will discover that we address global poverty at the root cause level by working directly with children and youth around the world. Why? Because we believe that investing in children and youth for the first two decades of their lives is the single best answer to breaking the cycle of poverty, especially generational poverty.

Our approach is far more than poverty alleviation. We develop and deliver programs based on four pillars: health, education, empowerment and employment. This holistic approach over time is the key to overcoming poverty.

The work Children International does to invest in children in poverty is mostly funded through a one-to-one sponsorship model. With the impactful relationships this model fosters, our sponsors have the privilege of transforming the lives of the children and youth they support. Along the way, sponsors tell us their lives are transformed. And we are in the process of creating a new future — for our sponsored children, for our supporters and for our organization. The Director of Loyalty & Advocacy Marketing will be a critical player in using relationship marketing to delight and engage our supporters, and in so doing, will build loyalty and advocacy for our cause.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Engagement, the Director of Loyalty and Advocacy Marketing will be responsible for crafting the marketing plan to drive unprecedented levels of engagement with our support base. S/he will manage a cross-discipline team of results-oriented staff. S/he must identify key segments of our existing support base, deliver a plan to engage, inspire and delight these segments, and ultimately invite them to grow in their support of CI’s work AND extend their support of our cause by advocating to their friends, family, and networks to join the important movement CI serves. You might have expected we would say that. But we need even more.

We’re looking for an individual who has the personality, marketing experience and leadership qualities necessary to take the Children International’s loyalty and advocacy marketing to new heights as we launch bold new initiatives that fundamentally change the way we operate. As we begin this new chapter, we are looking for an extraordinary leader, an innovative story-teller, a fanatical collaborator, a change warrior, a passionate advocate for children and an ethical owner of our cause.

This position is critical to the future of Children International. It promises to be challenging. But you’ll see the reward of the job in the eyes of the youth who graduate from our program and in the gratitude of fulfilled contributors.

Responsibilities include:
  • Developing an integrated marketing strategy to engage and delight our existing sponsor/supporter base to new heights of engagement, financial support and advocacy
