About Children International

Children International is a nonprofit humanitarian organization working to eradicate poverty around the world. At CI, we believe that ending poverty starts with children. Without help, children in poverty become adults in poverty. Our vision is to bring people together to put an end to that through programs focused on health, education, empowerment through life skills and, ultimately, employment. Ours is a unique, long-term, customized approach that allows us to stay with our children for the first two decades of their lives. We’re in it for the long haul because we know that the 200,000 children we support in 10 countries around the world deserve a fighting chance.

Children International’s work is made possible by generous and caring sponsors, donors, corporations, more than 9,000 dedicated volunteers and approximately 1,600 employees. To ensure our programs give children the best possible chance of breaking the poverty cycle, we are elevating our practices for growing our people talent worldwide. That’s where you come in.

Position summary

This role will join a newly formed team of internal consultants that support, facilitate, and champion continuous process improvement for Children International (CI) globally.

The position will support the Latin America Agency Directors and key staff as a problem-solving partner to deliver results against goals and expectations and strengthen operational excellence. Reporting to the Director of Transformation, the position will support a portfolio of continuous improvement projects and lean experiments within one or more agencies at any given time. The position catalyzes continuous improvement thinking and applies systematic problem solving to create greater return on investment for CI sponsored children, youth, and supporters.

The position models a growth, solutions-oriented, and experimentation mindset that strengthens operational excellence for greater effectiveness and efficiency, a strategic priority. The position persistently engages teams with questions, perspectives, and insights that challenge conventional approaches and test underlying assumptions. The candidate will be comfortable identifying and diagnosing issues with no clear cause, bring energy and optimism to motivate teams throughout improvement processes, and champion teammates’ value-add ideas and innovations.

The candidate will bring process to improvement opportunities, converting them into well-scoped projects and lean experiments when appropriate, and documenting and sharing learnings within the agency and across the organization. Together with counterparts in the Asia/Africa region, the position supports agencies in business process redesign, change management efforts, and transformation initiatives. Working in alignment with Regional Directors and Agency Directors, the position will reprioritize and course correct to support strategic goals as required.

The successful candidate will possess a passion for achieving results, learning through challenging assignments, an open mind, and ability to prioritize the successes and ideas of others over oneself.
