POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Planning & Execution Manager leads enterprise planning and execution. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Transformation, the position partners closely with the Chief Operating Officer and functional leaders to plan, integrate, and execute the Annual Enterprise Plan for CI. This role leads the development and review of dashboards at multiple layers, builds processes and disciplines to engage the organization in highlighting progress and identifying and addressing challenges that could impact successful implementation. The Manager engages the COO for first-hand communication and resource allocation, leading special projects as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE
  • Serves as the “business owner” for the Annual Enterprise Planning process and results, championing annual priorities and needs across various departments including Revenue & Growth, Talent Growth, IT, Finance, Global Programs & Operations, and Business Transformation.
  • Engages with other functions to develop and execute current year plans and processes addressing CI strategy, leading problem-solving and resolution where needed.
  • Coordinates collaboration between Business Transformation and IT for business process development and improvement, ensuring integration between units.
  • Leads the enterprise plan and progress communications strategy, working collaboratively with Internal Communications staff in Business Transformation.
  • Ensures end-to-end alignment of key annual processes, including allocations and effective fund transfers and grants to International Partners.
  • Monitors and assesses the execution of annual enterprise plans, ensuring action is taken where required, and highlights areas needing resourcing for problem resolution.
  • Leads regular reviews of the performance metrics dashboard at multiple layers, developing processes and disciplines for managing this work, engaging the COO in the workings of the organization, and leading cross-functional operational execution meetings when needed.
  • Coordinates with Business Transformation program and project managers on the impacts of Mission Possible Roadmap (MPR) and other enterprise-wide projects and initiatives on the annual plan.
  • Leads the development of an annual plan dashboard, inclusive of programmatic, financial, personnel, fundraising, and other metrics, collaborates with Finance to develop cost models for improving CIKC operations, and develops reports and provides analysis for the COO as needed.
  • Provides coordination, reporting, and follow-up on global operational risks identified through field operations, fundraising operations, or technical systems operations, updates the Board of Directors audit committee, and manages Operation’s Policy administration tool and processes.
  • Leads priority management and innovation projects as assigned by the COO, focused largely on Fundraising, CIKC operations, and new product innovation, and manages one-off projects focused on managing or mitigating risks as assigned by the COO.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum eight years of experience in tasks related to management of operations with three years in complimentary professional role
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, industrial engineering, project management or related areas, but not restricted to these areas.
  • Excellent, proven capacity to thrive in a role requiring rapid learning, integration with the organization and influence capacity.
  • Strong, demonstrated organizational, management and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex content clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong collaboration and team-orientation with an ability to engage with people and move groups and teams forward.
  • Demonstrated vision and commitment for supporting social service and/or humanitarian causes.
  • US based position with preference for Kansas City metropolitan area.
  • Willingness to travel at least three times per year, domestically or internationally.
