KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 19, 2024) – Children International, a global nonprofit that seeks to transform lives by eradicating poverty, has named transportation executive Adam Newsome chair of its Board of Directors and appointed PaShon Mann, a seasoned leader in global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B), to the board.
Newsome, an Atlanta resident, is CEO of Lazer Logistics, a leading provider of yard management in North America. He assisted with the company’s founding in 1996 and later rejoined the company in 2003. During his tenure, Lazer Logistics has grown from 100 to 6,000 employees. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and a law degree from the university’s School of Law.
“I am honored to serve as Board chair for Children International,” Newsome said. “I continue to be inspired by this amazing organization’s relentless focus on providing stellar programs that support the good health, education, empowerment and job training needed for children and youth, all aimed at putting an end to generational poverty for good.”
PaShon Mann has more than 25 years of leadership experience as a talent executive across multiple industries and companies such as Dell, Microsoft, Amtrak, Gannett/USA Today and Northrop Grumman. She currently serves as global head of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging at NetApp. Mann holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Morgan State University and executive education certificates from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
