Children International youth attended a "Prepared to Succeed" camp, aimed at developing personal and professional skills to help young people overcome challenges and pursue their goals. Youth participated in a variety of team-building exercises where they had to collaborate and communicate to achieve their goals.
For many youth in poverty, opportunities to build communication, confidence, and leadership skills don’t come easily. This kind of early skills-building fills a critical gap — giving youth the confidence, communication, and teamwork experience they need to succeed.
These skills will be especially helpful for youth who eventually join the Into Employment program, Children International’s signature workforce development program. It not only delivers tangible skills and opportunities to youth and young adults, it also offers an achievable path out of poverty.
