Poor children around the world need your help this Christmas season. You can help right now by sponsoring a child for Christmas. Many of our families struggle to meet everyday expenses and needs. Sadly, this often means that the items on a child’s wish list for holiday gifts—such as new toys or new clothing—remain out of their family’s reach.
Children International is a global, trusted, transparent and effective non-profit organization. We help children by providing them with educational assistance, access to medical and dental care, and other transformative interventions.
And during the holidays, we do a little extra to make sure low-income families can receive Christmas gifts every year. We work closely with each community we serve to understand the most urgent needs of children and families. Gift cards and cash gifts allow families the dignity and agency of determining what they need most. (Where giving cash to families is not legal, we provide food baskets.)
Through our child and youth development programs, sponsorship donations (which are tax-deductible) support families and children year-round, relieving some of their constant economic pressures while providing opportunities that can help them escape poverty.
Make Christmas wishes come true: Adopt* a kid for Christmas, and make the season—and every day—even brighter.
It’s simple and easy to start sponsorship during the holidays

Browse children's profiles (by how  many years old they are, by first name, birthday, country, and  more) and select a child or youth who resonates with you.  Every child deserves to feel special this season, and  knowing there’s someone in the world who cares for them is a meaningful, impactful way to make that happen!

Fill in your  contact and monthly gift details. You will receive both a  confirmation email and, soon after, a welcome kit with a  photo of your child and more information about them.

We encourage all sponsors to communicate with their children, and you can  start building a connection immediately by sending a letter  or holiday greetings to your child. This is just the  beginning of a meaningful and lasting connection!
Note: “Most at Risk” flag are children facing the least stable living circumstances and fewest resources.
Child sponsorship connects two people — a sponsor with a generous heart + a child living in poverty. When you sponsor a disadvantaged child, your monthly gift of $39 provides access to the life-changing benefits of our sponsorship program, like medical and dental care, educational support, life skills, job-readiness training, and more. And we can connect families with social services when they need them. You are helping to break the cycle of generational poverty, creating opportunities for children like these below—and their families—to transform their lives.
In addition to building a personal connection, you’ll be able to see how your generosity positively impacts the lives of others. Together, we can end poverty for good. And that, we think, gets to the essence of the Christmas spirit: Good will toward others – followed by positive action!
Growing up in poverty exposes children to additional stressors and negative influences. Your support during this vulnerable time assists children directly for the first two decades of their lives
Sponsoring a child provides them with the opportunity to see beyond their daily struggles—and helps them gain skills to positively contribute to their families and communities
As a sponsor, you’ll assist disadvantaged children in overcoming their biggest challenges: getting and staying healthy, remaining in school, and finding a stable job in the formal work sector.
When you sponsor, we'll send you more info about your child, including a photo and a quick-start guide to child sponsorship. You'll also:
You can make changes to your monthly giving anytime. Please contact our Care Team to adjust, delay or cancel. And because we've made a commitment that we'll be a part of our kids' lives until they graduate, your sponsored child will continue to receive benefits from the program and we will work to find a new sponsor as soon as possible.
There are even more ways you can support children and families year-round, beyond sponsorship:
*Please note: Adoption is a colloquial term for signing up to donate money toward a child. No parental rights or legal guardianship is granted through our charity programs.
