Kansas City, MO (August 3, 2016) Kansas City-based nonprofit organization Children International has been selected to be the featured charity at KKFI Community Radio’s 25th anniversary celebration of My Place with Larry J.

Larry J has a long history with KKFI being one of the earliest on-air programmers. He has developed a loyal and growing audience who appreciate his up-tempo blend of R&B, soul and blues. His show My Place is about giving artists the opportunity to have their music played on the air when other radio stations would not give them that chance. After 25 years, Larry J is excited to celebrate the show’s success.

“I have loved working for KKFI over the years and getting to bring great music to the people of Kansas City,” said Larry J. “The station and I are so excited to be able to host the 25th anniversary celebration of My Place, and we hope listeners old and new will join us. I am also happy to have Children International be a part of the celebration. Helping kids in need is something I’ve long felt passionate about, and CI helps kids around the world break the cycle of poverty. I’m glad this event can help bring awareness to the work that they do.”

Children International is a nonprofit humanitarian organization headquartered in Kansas City and focused on ending poverty by helping children and youth around the world.
