Steve Berger is Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President, Corporate Services at C.H. Guenther, a global food manufacturing company headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. In his role, he leads the company’s human resources and corporate services functions, helping to build a high-performance culture and support CHG’s growth and transformation across North America and Europe.
Steve brings more than 35 years of experience working with global organizations on leadership, talent, and business transformation. Prior to joining CHG, he was a Senior Partner at Kearney, advising companies on leadership, organizational change, and mergers and acquisitions. He also previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at Compass Minerals and Viterra, where he led enterprise-wide integration and capability-building efforts.
Throughout his career, Steve has focused on helping organizations align their people, strategy, and operations to drive meaningful results and long-term success.
Steve has served on the Board of Directors of Children International since 2019 and is passionate about the organization’s mission to help children and youth overcome poverty and build brighter futures.
He holds an MBA from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Penn State University. Steve and his wife, Rachel, have a daughter, Rebecca.
