The work Children International does on behalf of children in poverty is funded primarily through a one-to-one sponsorship model. We are transforming our funding model to dramatically increase the support we provide our kids. Additionally, we are taking our programs from good to great by elevating our people systems and practices worldwide. That’s where you come in.

Position summary

Children International (CI) is seeking candidates for a Financial Analyst position. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the ideal candidate will be a highly collaborative team member responsible for performing research and analysis to most effectively support the development, evaluation and maximized returns from organizational activities.


One of the primary responsibilities of the position will be to work in close partnership with CI’s fundraising team. This person is responsible for facilitating the scenario building and communicating the insights derived from data collection and analysis that drives optimal campaign efficacy.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop models that inform effective fundraising and other organizational investments.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising results (by donor segment, product, campaign, vendor, etc.) to drive optimized returns.
  • Report results and recommended actions to management.
  • Critically challenge fundraising model assumptions based on data analytics.
  • Assist in the budget and forecast process.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in finance
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing financial analyst role preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in evaluating marketing effectiveness using models, CLV, NPV and other key evaluation methods used to build, evaluate and report the results of fundraising campaigns
  • Familiar with advanced statistical analysis
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills
