The political and security situation in Ecuador has become dire, with media reporting that the country is on the brink of a civil war. Does CI have any news to share about how this is affecting its work and families?

We are aware of the situation. Our staff is working remotely from home and staying in touch with our communities. As of now a state of emergency has been declared and schools across the country are closed in hopes of keeping everyone safe. Thankfully, we have no reports of any injuries among our sponsored children, their family members or our staff.

Has anyone heard anything about the unrest in Ecuador? Doing an internet search doesn't seem to have anything current. Last I heard was that many of the upheaval had been put down and things were fairly quiet. Thanks for any information anyone can provide.
