Position summary

Children International is seeking an experienced Email Marketing Manager who is innovative, collaborative and analytic. This individual will play a pivotal role in executing the strategy for the email program including campaign set up, automation, testing and optimization. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to apply email best practices to make an immediate impact on the email channel. The ideal candidate will have a history of building best-in-class digital direct programs that are wired for growth. To be successful, they must be a creative problem solver driven to get results while, at the same time, delivering optimal journeys from lead generation and cultivation to loyal contributor. It is a plus to be wired for data-driven marketing with a test and learn mindset and willing to experiment with new digital and email capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for driving continuous improvement in the email and digital marketing channel through application of best practices and test and learn approaches.
  • Participates in the development of segment-specific tactical marketing plans as the email subject matter expert.
  • Manages the implementation for all emails on the integrated channel calendar.
  • Collaborate and manage list criteria for targeted audiences. Responsible for list generation and segmentation as part of the email execution process.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling all of the execution work across the email pipeline.
  • Ensures all emails are consistent with the CI brand.
  • Through testing and analytics, reports performance of email marketing efforts. Provides recommendations to marketing and creative in order to optimize the effectiveness of the email channel.
  • Manages email deliverability to optimize inbox placement for our engaged supporters.
  • Support the development of SMS and deploying as a new digital communication channel to supporters.
  • Strictly observe confidentiality and strong ethics with respect to all beneficiary information/financial and other organizational data.
  • Comply with and ensure adherence to the agency’s policies, safety and security protocols and child safeguarding norms and guidelines by self as well all stakeholders both internal and external.

Personal Characteristics & Qualifications

  • BS degree with major in marketing preferred.
  • Preferred 3-5+ years of experience in email marketing experience.
  • Experience using various email platform(s) to build, execute and measure campaigns.
  • Prefer marketing automation platform experience including data integration, list generation content builder and Journey builder.
  • Functional knowledge of Google Analytics, Moveable Ink, HTML and other supporting technologies is desirable.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for email marketing internationally including CAN-Spam, GDPR, etc. preferred.
  • Results driven with exceptional attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communications.
  • Critical thinking and problems solving skills.
