Position summary

The Talent Growth Manager is employed by Children International - Bicol, Inc. (CIBI) and reports to the Agency Director. The position is responsible for, in partnership with the agency’s leadership, building a high-performance value driven agency culture that is conducive to the fulfillment of our vision and mission.

This position works closely with the Global Talent Growth team in the design of innovative practices and is accountable for successfully implementing them at the agency - recruitment, development, performance and potential management, compensation and succession management. As a strategic partner, he/she will provide direction and will execute on specific local talent growth needs.

The Talent Growth Manager will also coach and mentor team leaders on how to best build effective teams and on difficult people management issues. This position is responsible for the integrity of our employee relations ensuring compliance of Children International policies and practices, human rights, local employment law and other regulations that impact employee relations and organizational governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the agency leaders to build a high performing value-driven agency culture.
  • Champion our CI values, and ensure alignment between our core values and the different local practices, policies, process and initiatives.
  • Implement best-in-class processes for recruiting, on-boarding, assessing, developing and engaging the local talent pool.
  • Implement the global succession management process to build a pipeline of agency future leaders that are identified early and developed through training and experiences.
  • Implement local employee and volunteer engagement initiatives so that every Agency member feels valued and part of a winning team, doing meaningful work in an environment of trust.
  • Implement the Global Performance Management process and discipline that sets stretch objectives and encourages significant feedback and coaching for individuals across the agency to successfully meet these targets.
  • Manage CI’s compensation and benefits philosophy and systems within the agency, ensuring internal equity, transparency and understanding from local employees and positive performance impact.
  • Model collaboration, partnership and communication with the agency’s leadership team to ensure the TG practices are fully aligned and truly enable the agency’s goals.
  • Coach, advise and mentor team leaders in people management issues and team building.
  • Support the leadership development initiatives to ensure the agency leaders have the right mind set, skill set and tool set to build high performing teams.
  • Partner with the Global and Regional Talent Growth Team in the design and continuous improvement of the Talent Growth practices.
  • Champion change and partner with the agency’s leaders to lead change management efforts.
  • Support internal communication initiatives within the agency to enable alignment, productivity and growth.
  • Ensure local TG processes and practices are adding value and continuously improved.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of and ensure compliance with CI Policies, human rights, local employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Assess other people related needs of the agency, identify solutions and lead the implementation of those in partnership with other key leaders.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • An undergraduate degree is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of which at least 1 year is in a leadership position driving talent growth practices such as recruitment, development, leadership development, succession management, performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to link people practices to organization performance, outcomes and improvements.
  • Desirable coaching and mentoring knowledge and experience.
  • Fluent in English.
