Children International
2000 East Red Bridge Road
Kansas City, MO 64131
Children International, a $135 million international humanitarian organization, is seeking a communication strategist to serve as Internal Communications Manager.
In this exciting position, you will help further the work of Children International to address the root causes of poverty in the 10 countries where we operate. This important role will help create and deliver clear, compelling messages about our strategy to strengthen and grow our 82-year-old organization during a period of significant transformation.
As we evolve our programs from an aid and assistance model to one that focuses on holistic child and youth development, there is a need to create greater alignment about what this means for our staff both at our Kansas City headquarters and around the world.
In addition to our transformational work in the field, our fundraising models are undergoing significant change as well. We are hard at work cultivating a “system” of supporters − from those who contribute $39 a month to support a child directly through our programs, to those willing and able to make transformational gifts of $1 million dollars or more.
As you can imagine, with all of this change comes a greater need to communicate regularly and effectively with 1,200 global staff members who care deeply about making a positive difference in the lives of the kids and families we serve.
To aide our global transformation, Children International is seeking a skilled, compassionate, collaborative Internal Communications Manager to support employee education and engagement around the world.
This individual will be responsible for crafting and implementing communication strategies, plans and messages for our employees around the globe. An important aspect of this internal communications role will be to travel to our international field offices to observe our programs first-hand, build relationships with our global staff, and devise a communication strategy that creates better alignment and buy in across the organization.
The Internal Communications Manager will also work with leaders across CI to create and maintain an organization-wide crisis communication plan.
The right candidate will possess an outgoing, collaborative personality and will have experience building and implementing strategic communication plans. He or she will have the leadership qualities necessary to drive change, engage leadership in intentional communication, and support development of new communication approaches and tools.
