Our Corporate Partners
Microsoft:
In the Dominican Republic and Mexico, Microsoft helped Children International establish computer centers for children and youth in poor communities so they had access to technology that would help them close the digital divide that exists in developing countries.

This program creates the transfer of knowledge and contributes to the educational development of youth. The computer centers are equipped with computers, Internet access and popular business applications. Centers offer information services and training to youth and the women who work as volunteers for Children International’s programs in the community.

Citigroup:
In Quito, Ecuador, the Citi Foundation has helped promote small-business training and career guidance for more than 1,000 youth from low-income families who had no choice but to leave school to help support their families.

This program is centered on vocational training, teaching interpersonal skills and small-business administration, which are basic to promoting self employment and obtaining competitive job skills for the marketplace. The project is directed toward youth between 16 and 19 years of age.

Broetje Orchards:
Broetje Orchards is one of the largest privately owned orchards in the world. Over the years, the company has partnered with Children International to provide books, school supplies and uniforms, mosquito nets, vaccination programs and emergency aid to sponsored children and their families.

The partnership with Broetje also helped expand a Children International Youth Health Corps (YHC) initiative to teach youth about disease prevention and healthy lifestyles. A series of workshops cover life skills, human rights, reproduction, fertility and pregnancy, contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, drug abuse, and personal hygiene. An important aspect of the YHC is peer-to-peer education. This multiplier effect helps extend the dissemination of the information tenfold to other youth in their communities.

MetLife:
The MetLife Foundation supports the education programs Children International operates in Mexico through donations meant to improve learning environments, enhance youth interaction and increase the utilization of technology.

The foundation has helped build and equip computer labs, has provided support for the expansion of resources in Children International libraries, and has funded the development of youth meeting spaces for program participants.
