Children’s charity is on Forbes’ list of “The 200 Largest U.S. Charities”

Kansas City, MO – Americans give more to charity during the holidays leading up to the end of the year, when seasonal appeals flood into mailboxes. Consumers need a clear way to tell which organizations will make the most of their money.

Children International is ranked 134th on Forbes magazine’s list of “The 200 Largest U.S. Charities.”

Forbes’ survey ranked Children International, a Kansas City-based child sponsorship organization, based upon revenue, expenses, charitable commitment, fundraising efficiency and donor dependency.

“This survey is important for our sponsors and donors to know that we exercise strict accountability with regard to their distributed funds,” said James R. Cook, President and CEO of Children International.

Consumers Digest magazine has also rated Children International as one of “America’s Top Charities” for 2006.

Children International received more than $107 million in direct public support last year from thousands of concerned donors – making it possible for the organization to effectively change the lives of thousands and thousands of poor children throughout the world.
