Children International Brings Health and Education
to Impoverished Children in Mexico.

Guadalajara, MEXICO – Children International opens its doors to help needy children in Villa de Guadalupe.

On Thursday, August 30, Children International - Jalisco inaugurates its second community center in the municipality of Zapopan.

The community center is named after Nina Rae Wesson, the late daughter of contributor Nancy Richards. The center will provide health services and educational support to more than 5,000 needy children in the 22 neighborhoods that make up the zone known as Mesa Colorada.

Robert Roth donated the Herman Butler Library & Study Center in honor of his uncle. Children will be able to access reference books there along with a computer lab, as well as a room equipped for studying and tutoring.

The Anne Jaqua Community Enrichment Hall and Nutrition Center has meeting rooms where nutritional feeding classes and a variety of workshops are carried out with the families of sponsored children.

"It is a dream come true for Children International to be able to benefit more children in Zapopan. Our goal is to have four community centers in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, and serve at least 20,000 children. We believe that by joining forces with private businesses, public institutions and private individuals we can meet this goal," said James Cook, President and CEO of Children International.
