| CHILD DEPARTURES |
We encourage every child to reap the benefits of sponsorship by staying enrolled in the program as long as possible. However, there are instances when sponsored children leave the program prematurely:
- It's not uncommon for a child's family to move to another community, city or country outside our program area
- Some no longer need assistance when their families circumstances improve as a result of a new job or help from relatives
- Occasionally, children willfully decide not to participate in the program or choose not to comply with program requirements
- In certain cases, youth might get married early or succumb to negative peer pressure or other influences that exclude them from participation.

There may also be instances when we are forced to close or consolidate areas due to safety concerns, political unrest or to increase the effectiveness of the program. When these situations occur, we will close an area only after much deliberation and only if it leads to the greater good of the sponsorship program.
If your sponsored child does leave the program for any reason, we will notify you by mail as soon as we are aware of the situation. We will also introduce you to another needy child who would benefit from your support. |
