Four sponsored teen leaders team up and take action at the United Nations to affect climate change! This year's theme
of the International Youth Day is Youth and Climate Change: Time for Action. The youth, who are from the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, India, and the United States, demonstrate how they organized reforestation and tree-planting projects, cleaned rivers and improved their environment through the Youth Empowerment Fund.
These youth will represent Children International at the 5th annual Youth Assembly hosted by Friendship Ambassadors Foundation in New York.
It all started with a simple plan. Put a video
camera in the hands of teens involved in Children International's youth program and let them tell the
story of sponsorship. Ask them to do everything themselves.come up with the idea, write the script, act out the scenes and shoot all the footage. Soon the tapes poured in. And they were wonderful - filled with great ideas, superb acting and messages of hope.
Here are three that best capture the very essence of what it means for impoverished youth to be a part of the Children International family.
