| Homapon Community Center: Philippines |
For more than 15 years, Children International has been offering vital benefits to needy children and their families in Legazpi, Philippines. Today, we help more than 18,000 children by ensuring they have access to vital necessities like basic health care and medicine when needed, new clothing and shoes, and educational support.
Our new community centers around the world concentrate sponsorship services in one convenient location. This makes it easy for children to receive the help they need, while allowing us to efficiently and effectively offer benefits to a large number of children. |

|
One of the areas where we currently work is in a neighborhood called Homapon, and we’ve chosen
 |
that location to build a new community center. It will be located in an area that is easily accessible and will contain medical and dental clinics, a library, a multi-purpose meeting hall, an office, a warehouse, space for in-house training, a kitchen and a waiting room. Activities that will take place at the new center include medical and dental checkups, health and nutrition educational classes, educational sessions for mothers, and much more.
Currently, there are over 5,000 sponsored children and youth who will visit the proposed new center to receive sponsorship benefits and services – help that is sorely needed in an area wrought with poverty. In fact: |
- The families who will be served by the new center are mostly farmers and laborers. The average monthly income of families ranges from US$50-$100.
- Most homes are made from substandard housing materials, such as coconut lumber, thatch for roofs and bamboo for floors, while others have concrete homes.
- Sanitation facilities may not always be available or easily accessible.
The families of Homapon deserve a comfortable new community center that they can easily access. We’ve already purchased a piece of land in an ideal location for the children and their families. Now we need the support of generous donors to help us begin construction soon…and continue offering families in Homapon real help and real hope.

Community Centers: Building Hope for the Future
Thank you for donating to our community center campaign! Each center that we build not only provides crucial care for 5,000 needy children but stands as a symbol of our long-term
commitment to the community itself.
Please note that 100 percent of your donation will be used exclusively for community center construction.
While gifts of any amount are welcomed, contributors who provide a gift of at least $1,000 toward construction of a community center will receive:
- regular updates on the progress of the center
- a report on the inauguration of services in this new location
- an open invitation to attend the center’s inauguration or visit anytime
- your name, or the name of a loved one, will be inscribed on a wall in
the center for all children and families to see.
